HOW I AM
Giada Malagoli Minutiello
Born in 1993, rebellious and stubborn, my passion for traveling and discovering the world was born before I even learned to walk...
At six months old, thanks to my uncles, I experienced the thrill of for the first time, and since then, I haven’t stopped exploring.
I pack my thirst for knowledge and desire for discovery into a 30-liter backpack, my faithful travel companion. I often travel solo, immersing myself in local cultures, striving to live and understand each place I visit. Initially, I tried keeping a travel journal, but soon realized that words alone couldn’t fully capture what I was seeing and feeling. That’s when I turned to photography, finding in it the perfect way to bring the emotions I experienced to life and to document what I saw. Photography doesn’t change reality, but it has the power to reveal it in all its intensity.
" I don’t like following rigid rules; instead, I prefer to capture images that evoke strong emotions and have a powerful visual impact. Often, through the lens, I’m able to immortalize what the naked eye cannot see. "
The soul of travel
My travels have opened my eyes to the inequalities and injustices in the world, influencing my academic journey as well. I graduated in International Law, but a bachelor’s degree wasn’t enough for what I wanted to do. After completing a Master’s in Cultural Mediation, I decided to specialize in Human Rights and Environmental Protection. I wanted to write, but I wanted the right skills to do so. I aimed to lend greater credibility to my articles and photographs. I wanted my work to be not only a testimony but also a concrete contribution to revealing and denouncing the injustices I encountered along my path.
